Peggy Schafer is co-developer and former co-owner of Omnigrid Inc., maker of quilting and craft rulers. She has been conducting classes and seminars demonstrating rotary cutting techniques for over 20 years. Her lectures have taken her to quilter’s gatherings, both nationally and internationally, including International Quilt Market in Houston; International Quilt Market in Europe; the Folk Art Museum in New York City; Quilter’s Heritage Celebration in Lancaster, Pennsylvania; and at Quilt Yokohama, in Japan. There, she enjoyed the coveted honor of being sensei at two of Japan’s highly renowned quilting schools. Peggy has also taught in Canada as well as Sao Paulo, Rio and Granada Brazil, and has been invited to teach in the Arctic in Alaska. Peggy’s talents have led her to designing display booths at major craft conventions. She has won numerous awards with her designs and is sought after for her expertise in design. Peggy is currently a Marketing Consultant for Omnigrid, a division of Prym Consumer USA sewing division. She sits on the prestigious Advisory Board of Quilts Inc., a world-renowned organization that sponsors and creates international trade shows, conferences and symposiums, bringing quilters together from all corners of the globe. She is also an active member of Rotary International. Since selling Omnigrid in 1999, Peggy has opened a new retail outlet store, Sewer’s Dream Fabric Outlet, which specializes in fabrics- including poundage, notions, and books.
